The SCORE! Mountain Challenge Workbook series is an
educational line designed to engage and entertain students in
grades K-6. The series combines
SCORE!'s motivating approach to learning with Kaplan's
proven teaching techniques.
Using a dynamic online companion to capture students'
attention, the series provides students with practice in math and
reading, and teaches them how to set and achieve academic goals.
This combination produces steady academic progress and makes a
positive impact on students' lifelong approach to learning.
Written by teachers and reviewed by educational experts in
math and language arts, the SCORE! Mountain Challenge
series includes 12 workbooks: Math K/1-6th Grade, Language Arts
K/1-6th Grade, as well as an interactive online companion. The
math component meets educational standards set forth by the
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and the
language arts books adhere to National Council of Teachers of
English (NCTE) standards. It is appropriate for students who need
to catch up, keep up or get ahead.
The SCORE! Mountain Challenge books can easily travel
anywhere with students—from car trips, to the backyard, enabling
them to learn wherever they are. The workbooks and website use
base camps and an encouraging mountain climbing study partner to
help track academic progress along the way. These features reward
students' efforts and help students (and parents) know where they
are on their trip up the mountain. Students who complete the
entire workbook and online program receive a certificate of
achievement.
